Goals

I came across motivational advice about creating goals for countless of times. They said it is recommended to always write down your goals, regardless of time constraint.

It came across my mind that maybe I should always write down my goals, so that I am frequently reminded of what I want to achieve in this life. A well-known theoretical approach of goal-setting is defined by SMART approach, which is Specific, Measurable, Achievable/Attainable, Realistic, and Time-bound.

I hardly practice them though. I think it's difficult to set a one-sentence goal that answers all the five criteria. Despite the one-minute crash course about smart goal-setting, I'm going to opt for setting simple goals I dream to achieve.

1. I want to have my own business one day. Be it running a cafe, or running a supply chain company.

2. I will have my MBA and practice all of what I have learned in the course.

3. I want to obtain a monthly 5-digit salary before or by 40.

As a human being, I couldn't help but want more in this world, in this life. But I need to learn patience and work hard & smart. The more I learn, the more I don't know. Pray that I'm blessed with perfect health and wealth, because health is wealth; and by having perfect health, I could work on creating wealth for myself and people around me. Sometimes I get tired of trying from negating envy and jealousy; one of the things I kind of dislike for being human is the struggle resisting the temptation to succumb into negativity, because sometimes (all the time) it is just so much easier to fall prey to the dark side.

Hence, I hope I will be able to come up with more specific, realistic, achievable, and timely goals from day to day. This is like assigning myself to a task, that is, to improve my goals. Why not, right? Someday I could teach youngins on how to create smart goals and make money out of coaching people; although I doubt that at the same time because the Internet is only expanding by the second and has information so vast and easily accessible, and new generations are only more and more tech-savvy. I hope that one-to-one classic teaching and learning method never cease to exist in the future; it shouldn't anyway. If it does come to that point, it would have happened already and I would not be trying to gain knowledge from another person today.

Cheers to achieving personal goals!
